Vegan Brownies

Vegan Brownies
After trying multiple recipes for vegan brownies these are the best vegan brownies I have had. You can’t tell that this is a vegan recipe. This is a great recipe if you need to make brownies without egg or brownies without dairy.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Water
- 1/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour unbleached preferred
- 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour unbleached preferred
- 1/2 Cup Dairy-Free Plant Butter (Stick)
- 2/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 1/2 Cups White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar Sifted if lumpy
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder aluminum free preferred
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup Vegan Chocolate Chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 9x13-inch metal pan with parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- Combine water and 1/3 cup of flour in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until thick. This takes approximately 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl and set aside to cool for 15 minutes.
- Melt plant butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix in the cocoa powder until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes.
- Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Add both sugars and vanilla to the cooled flour-water mixture from step 1. Mix with an electric mixer until well combined. Add cocoa mixture from step 3 and mix until incorporated. Add the dry flour mixture from step 4 and stir until blended. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using. Spread evenly in the prepared pan. The batter will be thick.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes. Cool before cutting.
